Prospect Presents our UK based consultant Veronique. We asked her a few questions to get to know her a bit better ...

1) If you weren’t in recruitment, what would you be doing?

I’d be a PI. I don’t know what it is but I seem to be able to get to the bottom of everything, whether it be why someone really left their job through to why someone didn’t show up to the party. Slightly scary for everyone else but I think you have to be pretty intuitive in our job so it works for me.

2) What could you not live without?

Access to the internet…. Shallow I know, but the way I look at it is, it keeps me in touch with the people I care about wherever they may be, enables me to scan the news and ensure I am on top pf my client’s news AND it means I can watch current favorite TV show Catastrophe wherever and whenever I like. Still shallow?

3) Favourite track of all time?

I have so many and quite often jump up and say this is my favourite song but the most recent one is Seinebo Sei’s Younger, the Kygo remix, I heard it first in Ibiza this summer and it now regularly keeps me focused on my battle in to work in the morning. Oh and anything by Kate Bush, she’s a genius.

4) What quote or saying do you over use?

‘In the same vein’ I use it all the time to help balance out a discussion. I see what you’re saying and get it but in the same vein…. I think I am right. You get the gist and I apologise now if I ever say this to you.

5) What do you wish they had taught you in school, but didn’t?

Money management. Ask anyone, if I have it I spend it and seem to have little to show for it (bar my flat).

6) What motivates you to come into work every day?

Breakfast? Though more seriously, the variety of clients we work with means as a consultant we’re currently learning about new industries, knowing what a hackathon is through to understanding the challenges facing some of the FTSE 100s means you’ve always got your finger on the pulse and what’s more we’re placing the people that make the news and that’s a big deal, right?

7) Describe your perfect Saturday / date

I need to make sure this doesn’t sound like a dating profile…. The perfect Saturday would probably be making the most of London with friends or a date. The South Bank, prosecco, dinner, an espresso martini or two and getting home before day light. Much easier to do in the winter…

8) What is the best thing about working for Prospect?

Having been here for so long I ‘d say there must be more than one thing…If I had to single one thing out though It’d be that I think Colette and Emma have created a business that enables their team to be independent and consequently you feel very much in control of your own success. I think this is one of the reasons the team have been here for such a long time.
