Prospect Resourcing

Prospects Charity for 2009 is St Dunstans

News & Events

Prospect has chosen St Dunstan’s as our nominated charity for the next 12 months.  We are hoping to raise lots of cash to help support the work St Dunstan’s does to help blind and visually impaired ex-Service men and women.

We chose St Dunstan’s because they are a small charity, and as a small business, we really feel that any donation we give would make a massive difference to this worthwhile cause.

We are getting into practice for a bake off, 5k and 10k runs and other fun activities, so watch this space for more information as it comes in.  If you would like to help Prospect or join in any fundraising activities, please call 020 7497 0100 and ask for Ellie.

 About St Dunstan’s

For almost a century, St Dunstan’s has been giving invaluable practical and emotional support to blind and visually impaired ex-Service men and women. With the help of our unique expertise, experience and comprehensive range of services, we enable them to lead independent fulfilling lives.

Partners for life

We’re there for St Dunstaners for as long as they need us. We help them adjust to their loss of sight and learn new skills – and our support lasts a lifetime. We help families too, as they adjust to their changing needs.

How we help

We help St Dunstaners become self-sufficient, regain their optimism and make the most of opportunities. Our services include:

  • Rehabilitation, specialist training and lifelong care
  • Help with welfare, housing and medical needs for them and their families
  • The facilities at our training, nursing, residential and respite care centres
  • Assistance in accessing the pension and benefits rights due to them
  • Emotional and practical support, enabling them to come to terms with their loss of sight and rebuild their lives
  • Arrange regular local events, activities and visit St Dunstaners at home
  • Over 30 regional St Dunstan’s reunion lunches held annually throughout the UK

Our Centres

Our flagship Centre at Ovingdean, near Brighton offers introductory training weeks, training in new skills and crafts, holidays and respite care, sports and social activities and care for a limited number of permanent residents.

A second Centre in Sheffield focuses on residential, training and assessment courses.

The girls at Prospect really hope to make a difference in 2009/2010!!
