The featured speakers are Emma Dale, co-founder and managing director of Prospect Resourcing, a leading PR/corporate comms recruiter in Asia; Craig Hoy, executive director and publishing editor, PublicAffairsAsia; Mark O'Brien, vice president and commercial publisher, PublicAffairsAsia; and Jane Zhang, director, government relations and public policy consulting group, Burson-Marsteller.

About the Speakers

Emma Dale, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Prospect Resourcing

Emma has specialised in PR and corporate communications recruitment for 18 years. She worked for Media Appointments and Median before setting up Prospect in London with Colette Brown in 2002. In 2009 Emma relocated to Hong Kong to set up Prospect’s Asia office, working on senior PR and Communications roles in Hong Kong, Singapore and China predominantly. Prior to entering into the PR/Communications business, Emma worked in-house for a travel consultancy as their Sales and PR Executive. Emma is extremely well-known within the PR & Communications industry and has worked with clients and candidates for many years, building long term relationships across the industry. She specialises at a senior level and recruits for global PR consultancies as well as MNC’s within corporate communications, encompassing internal communications, external communications public affairs/government relations and media relations covering all industry sectors.

Craig Hoy, Executive Director and Publishing Editor

Craig Hoy is a former managing director of Dods and the former publisher of Public Affairs News and The House Magazine. He is the founding director of PublicAffairsAsia and has worked for organisations including the BBC, The Times and Investment Week. A former Downing Street lobby correspondent, he has over a decade of specialist publishing and editorial experience in the public affairs, communications and government arenas in Europe and Asia. He was educated at Edinburgh University and London's City University. Craig was an inaugural member of the Young Leaders, a group of European, Asian and American under-35s who met to discuss geo-politics after the 9/11 tragedy.

Mark O'Brien, Vice President (Asia Pacific) and Commercial Publisher

Mark O'Brien is a senior public affairs practitioner who has worked for the timber industry and the international express delivery sector, representing multinationals such as Jewsons, Travis Perkins, TNT and FedEx. As chairman of the global wood awards and a board member of the wood.for.good campaign, he acquired a wide ranging insight into corporate communications as well as developing major environmental and CSR projects in the UK, Malaysia and Indonesia. Previously he worked in the UK parliament and for the Red Cross. He is a graduate of Saint Andrews University in Scotland and has worked in mainland Europe and Asia.

Jane Zhang, Director, Government Relations and Public Policy Consulting Group, Burson-Marsteller

Jane Zhang is the Director of the Government Relations and Public Policy Consulting Group (GR&PPC) at Burson-Marsteller China. In this role, she leads the GR&PPC practice and provides senior level counsel to clients on government affairs, issues management and strategic planning. As a strategist and government affairs expert, Jane has worked for both leading multi-national companies in the U.S. as well as their local operations in China. With her in-depth knowledge of China’s policy environment and the government’s inner-workings, Jane has also provided senior level advisory services to leading U.S. companies on their China strategy and business development ventures.
